Description
Large, Paper-Like Display
The Kindle Scribe features a 10.2-inch monochrome Paperwhite touchscreen with 300ppi resolution. Its glare-free display provides a spacious surface for reading books, viewing supported documents, and writing notes.
The 2024 design includes uniform borders around the display, creating a notebook-like appearance. Text and handwriting appear in greyscale rather than full colour.
Premium Pen Included
The included Premium Pen allows you to write, sketch, and make notes directly on supported screens without charging the pen.
A built-in eraser and shortcut button provide convenient access to writing tools, helping you switch between tasks with fewer on-screen selections. The pen is designed to offer a natural, paper-like writing experience.
Digital Notebooks for Everyday Ideas
Create digital notebooks for meeting notes, study summaries, journals, lists, and brainstorming.
The writing-focused design makes the Scribe useful for keeping reading material and handwritten notes together, without relying entirely on separate paper notebooks.
Reading and Document Annotation
Use the Scribe to read Kindle books and work with supported documents. Available writing tools let you capture thoughts alongside reading material and annotate compatible document types.
Annotation methods vary by book, file format, and software support. Do not assume that every book or imported document supports the same direct-writing features.
Adjustable Lighting
A built-in front light and adjustable warm light help you tailor the display to your environment and preferences.
This allows you to read and write in dim surroundings as well as brighter spaces, without depending entirely on an external reading lamp.
Generous 64GB Storage
The 64GB internal storage provides room for a substantial collection of books, documents, and digital notebooks.
Actual capacity depends on file sizes and downloaded content. System software uses part of the advertised capacity, so available user storage is lower than 64GB.
Long Battery Life and USB-C Charging
For reading, Amazon states up to 12 weeks of battery life based on 30 minutes per day, wireless switched off, and the light set to level 13.
For writing, the stated maximum is up to three weeks based on 30 minutes per day under the same wireless and lighting conditions. Mixed reading and writing, brighter lighting, and wireless activity affect the time between charges.
Slim Design for Reading and Writing
The device measures approximately 196 × 230 × 5.7mm, excluding its feet. Its slim body provides a large working surface without the thickness of a stack of notebooks.
It is a dedicated reading and writing device rather than a conventional colour entertainment tablet.
